some folks have pink flamingos in their yard..if you call them art deco, maybe the misses will be more understanding. other than an important part of audio history, once you hear them there is no going back to small speakers. ive even seen harleys in the living room, tho these make much better musicin the living room

'Been able to spend more time tweaking the EQ and dialing in the x-over. Definitely sounds better. The more I think about it, the room is such a huge limiting factor. It needs to be twice as big (or wide) so I'm not so close to the 210's. A single MB-1 on each side with a 2360/2446j horn combo on top of that - with all the drivers vertically aligned - would be nice. Wish I could just wave my hand and have it done. Spending a lot of time out there w/ the wife and the kids jammin' and playing ping pong. So far so good........ but might have to put some type of grille over the woofers to protect them from ping pong balls at warp speed. Seems like a good idea.

Being too close to the 210s isn't so much of a problem, because they sum over a good part of their range, and sound like a single source. The problem is being too close to the whole shebang. It's a matter of the distance between the sources. Up close, if you stand on a chair you hear the MBs, and the 210s if you sit down. The farther away you get, the less you notice that, because of the shrinking relative difference in distance. Keep moving back, and at some point it will all blend and appear to come from a single spot. That's why such a setup works fine for concerts, but not so well up close and personal. It's all a matter of scale.

It's the same thing with the side-by-side MBs, only worse for them because they're playing the same material, so you get cancellations and additions repeatedly across their range. That's a comb filter, and you'll never be able to EQ or delay it out. Even if you don't move them, you could just shut down the outer pair, readjust the level (and delay) to make up for it, and you'll see what I mean.

You're getting it though, don't stop now, you're gonna win...

It just dawned on me you may still just have drivers in one pair of the 210s. If so, you'd be way ahead by using the top pair instead of the bottom, due to the distance thing I mentioned. You may already be there, I'm just going by the picture. If you move the woofs, insert some chicken wire or hardware cloth first for those supersonic ping pong balls (or the errant late-nite Bud can).

(Add a strip of Mortite rope caulk around the face of the woof gaskets to maintain the seal if you insert protective screening.)
